Ordinations as Deacon
It is intended to ordain to the Diaconate:

- Mr Alphonse Garimae
on Wednesday 12th May 2021 at St Margaret’s Church, West Cairns at 7.00 pm. Please join me in praying for Kay, Christine and Alphonse as they prepare for this big step in their Christian vocation.
Commissioning at Ross River Anglican Church
It is intended to commission the Reverend Tom Pountain as Rector of Ross River Anglican Church on Monday 15th February at the Rock Centre, The Cathedral School Townsville, at 7 pm. All are invited to attend this service, as we welcome Tom and his wife Hannah and their four daughters to Townsville. The dress is smart casual, including clergy. RSVPs to admin@rrachurch.com.
Synod
Synod representatives will shortly receive a Summons to attend Synod, which is being conducted on the weekend after Easter. On the evening of Friday 9th April, the Synod will open at St James’ Cathedral, and the subsequent business sessions will be held at The Cathedral School on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th April. There is a full agenda and I expect that we will not finish until after lunch on Sunday. Full details and papers will be sent out in March.
Consultations and Chrism Masses
Prior to Synod there will be a series of consultations in each region, generally in the week before Holy Week. The Chrism Masses will also be held around this time. Please see below. All Synod Reps are invited to the consultations: others who would like to attend are asked to contact Shelley Thomas to ensure that venues are large enough to accommodate those attending in light of COVID-19 restrictions.
